Azi Mohammadian,
Director of Clinical Services
I come to this work as both a therapist and a human who understands how deeply pain can shape us — and how possible healing can be. My path into this profession was not abstract or purely academic; it was forged through lived experience, personal healing, and a long, nonlinear journey of making sense of trauma, loss, and emotional survival. I identify deeply with the wounded healer framework, and I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel truly seen, safe, and met with compassion. Therapy, to me, is not about fixing what is broken, but about creating the conditions where your nervous system can soften, your emotions can be felt, and your truest self can begin to emerge.

I have been in private practice for over a decade and in the mental health field for more than fifteen years, specializing in trauma and couples counselling. I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Couples Counsellor, and my work is grounded in helping individuals and partners understand the emotional patterns and attachment wounds that shape their relationships. My clinical approach integrates EFT for couples, AEDP (Level 2), and somatic and Internal Family Systems (IFS)–informed therapy. Together, we work gently and intentionally with emotions held in both the mind and body, supporting the healing of wounded parts formed through childhood trauma, relational injuries, and overwhelming life experiences.
I also bring a depth of perspective informed by my own healing journey, including carefully held therapeutic and psychedelic experiences that have shaped how I understand trauma, the nervous system, and the body’s innate capacity to heal when given safety, time, and attuned support. Alongside my clinical training, I am a Certified Psychedelics Facilitator, and I approach this work with a strong emphasis on ethics, preparation, and integration.
In couples counselling, I support partners in slowing down painful cycles, softening defenses, and reconnecting from places of vulnerability and emotional truth. I also work with couples navigating separation, helping them move through uncoupling in ways that are respectful, conscious, and emotionally responsible.
As an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), I mentor and supervise therapists, supporting their clinical development as well as their capacity to work from an embodied, relational stance. I see therapy as both a profession and a lifelong practice of humility, self-reflection, and growth.
Outside of my work, I find grounding and inspiration in meditation, journaling, movement and dance, long walks by the ocean, travel, and time with my chosen family. I am deeply curious about culture, language, and the many ways humans seek meaning and healing.
